The device at the outlet of the furnace cannot be lined with fireclay bricks inside, as the internal gorenje chamber. It has the highest temperature and steel is unsuitable for this unit of the fireplace insert. Therefore, Schmid furnaces use smoke collectors (hoods) made of cast iron of the Konigshutte brand. Production of Konigshutte has existed for about 3 centuries, cast iron for furnaces, which is produced at this factory belongs to the class of heat-resistant, it has excellent chemical properties and technical characteristics. Special grade of cast iron (GGL15 - c lamellar graphite, minimum the maximum strength of -150 N / mm2) guarantees reliability and long service life of both the smoke collector and the fireplace insert.Cast iron thickness in the high temperature zone the temperature reaches 8-15 mm, which makes the furnace structure somewhat heavier, but prevents it from breakdowns and meets safety requirements. On the smoke collecting device, a rotary mechanism for connecting to the chimney is installed.
